Sunday Morning Agonistes

Not to complain or anything, but this drizzly Sunday morning I find myself:
1) recovering from a bout of gout, an 18th century-sounding ailment that, on the plus side, gives me something in common with Ben Franklin. It's painful, and makes me hobble around like Granpa McCoy, and is literaly a royal pain, and;
2) Time addled by the end of DST.. feeling like I've been up for a week already, and;
3) Managed to knock over my barely-touched coffee cup, flinging cofee over family room furniture and carpet, and ;
4) Obsessively watching cable election coverage, and pouring over election poll analysis on the web. Will this ever end?

But, on the bright side, I've reconnected with my fellow Buonos, the sun is peeking out, the polls look pretty good for our side, and we are heading out tonight for dinner and some live music. As the Bobster once sang, " The was music in the cafes at night, and revolution in the air"
Two days to go.

Cheers,

Don

I can't wait until the election is finally over and the commercials, phones calls, and flyers come to an end. Jon and I have been obsessively watching the MSNBC coverage for a few weeks, and now I know more than I ever wanted to about politics! Jon is pretty into it, so he got me watching too. One thing it did accomplish...I wasn't going to bother voting (mostly because all politicians just tell you what you want to hear), but now that I know the issues, have seen arguments for both sides, I'll be rockin' the vote tomorrow. (Go Obama!)

In other news, Logan seems to be getting on some kind of night schedule. He's been pretty consistent in getting up every 3 hours for a bottle, which seems like a lot, but we take turns so it isn't too bad. Still, we both feel like extras in a George Romero movie. Everyone keeps telling us it gets better...we keep our fingers crossed! :)

Jenny,
Good on ya, we need every vote we can get out of Western PA. I missed the whole 3.A.M feeding thing, but I bet Sandy can commiserate.

3 a.m. feedings? Oh yes, how I remember those. Sometimes I'd be so tired and bleary-eyed...I'd get the little guy fed and back into his crib, and the colicky crying would start. Baby back rubs helped.... Also, reciting my little motherhood mantra: "Every day, he's a day older.... every day, he's a day older." That helped me perservere until he began sleeping through the night!

ROFL, thanks for the encouragement, guys! I will relay the mantra to Jon...we have to believe it'll get better! Logan loves his backrubs too, and sometimes they're the only way to get him to sleep.

I hate it when people tell us, "Oh, my son (or daughter) slept through the night at 2 weeks (or worse yet, 1 week)". Yes, Mom...I'm including you in here (*hugs*)! DON'T TELL US THESE THINGS!!! ;)

He'll sleep when he sleeps, I guess. (Every day he's a day older...every day he's a day older...) :)
